Skiing the week before Xmas

    Hi all,

I'd like to arrange a first time ski trip for two familes (4 adults and 4 kids aged 5 to 10) for 3-4 days between Dec 16th and 23rd this year. Last year we organised our own trip to Rovaniemi in Finland to see Santa and also did a day's skiing which we all loved so this year we'd like to repeat the trip but just for skiing and most likely to either France, Austria or Italy depending on what flights we can get and what offers the best value.

Ideally we'd like to fly from Dublin and get into our destination with enough time to have an afternoon on the slopes followed by two full days and late home on the 4th day so we get to ski for most of the day before we return. Departing Sat the 18th and returning late Tuesday the 21st would be perfect or 19th to 22nd.

We are comfortable booking our own flights, transfers, accomodation & lift passes etc so what I'm really looking for are recommended destinations which are close to airports with direct flights from Dublin and recommended accomodation and advice from anyone who has done something similar.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Ben
