Duck ID

I spotted this colourful chap on a lunchtime perambulation around a Dublin park during the week. He was pestering a female mallard, who is also in shot. A quick glance at the duck section of the Irish Wildlife Book does not yield an ID. Any ideas? DSC00133.JPG

If the bird was tame then almost most certainly an escape from a wildfowl collection. Male wood duck it is.
