    Hi all,

I was wondering if someone could give me some info about Favre-Lueba watches. I was left my dad's when he died a few years ago, basically I'm quite an active guy so I generally don't wear dress watches.

Anyway as I misplaced my current G Shock the other day I took my dads out of the safe. It was only then I notice how much it needed a clean. So I got it cleaned and the glass replaced as it was slightly scratched.

The model is Harpoon, it was given to my dad after 25 years working in the IGB, even though he was there for another 20 years. As it is engraved I know he got in 1974.

Now I know it depends on condition, but they guy who cleaned for me reckoned it was worth some money. It got me curious, I'm not interested in getting cash for it, but anyone any ideas if its worth something.

Sorry I have no pics I left my camera in Dublin.

    Cheers.

F-L are brand with an interesting and long history dating back to 1737 and would appear to have a bit of a following.

Harpoon's look to be going for < £50 on ebay.
Harpoon II's about £1,375 at Christies last year.

I think to be given a better guestimate of value you'd need to post up pics once you get access to your camera.

Not wanting to palm you off on some other forum but unless some of the other frequenters here, who would be more familiar with vintage watches, can help you might be better asking over on WUS who up until recently had a forum dedicated to Favre-Leuba.

Cheers, I pick up the camera when I'm in Dublin over the weekend and post a pic during the week.
