Corsa diesel maintenance

Does anyone know how long a Corsa 1.5 diesel will last without a service and, specifically, an overdue timing belt change?

It's going to be sold but the owner is not quite ready to change it yet. The owner does low mileage and it hasn't been serviced for 14k miles (2 years ago).

The timing belt change interval is 80k miles or 8 years and it's done 73K miles since the last change which was just over 8 years ago.

I appreciate that these things are an unknown quantity but can anyone offer any advice and / or experience?

    Thanks in advance.

Corsa 1.5D is the Isuzu engine, and is a car I know well as I had two of them (in very quick TD form too!!) From memory, the timing belt change interval is 72K miles or 5 years. Belt change is straighforward as cam and fuel pump are locked with M8 bolts.

The oil change intervals are short at 4,500 miles. Missing these can make the car smokey so I'd suggest changing oil and filter ASAP. Use a good, preferably genuine oil filter. They use ordinary 15W40 mineral oil too.
