    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew the processes involved in being a street vendor of hot drinks? For example if I wanted to have a mobile unit to sell tea/coffee on the streets of Dublin, what would the requirements be to be allowed do so?

    Thanks for any help

Talk to Dublin City Council Casual Trading Section (casualtrading@dublincity.ie) and HSE/Environmental Health Officer for requirements. Take a look at my post here for info too.

Might be worth talking to Karl from Coffee Angel - he has a number of mobile coffee units in the Docklands. Apart from making excellent coffee he also franchises out his units.

    Good luck with it!:)

Thanks for the great post. I read through the legislation but I'm still wondering what parts of the public space would be out of bounds and what wouldn't be. I've sent a mail off to the Casual Trading section of the council anyway so hopefully they'll be able to assist me further.

    Thanks again

    You're welcome!:)

It really depends on where you are looking to set up and who owns that particular 'patch'. Not all areas are exclusively owned by Dublin City Council (but could still be 'controlled' by them) but that said they should be able to direct you on that score.

Unfortunately it looks like there's high demand for casual trading licenses, and because there are only designated spots upon which you can trade, it's a matter of joining the waiting list before being able to actually trade anywhere.

This is frustrating because the type of rig I'd be looking to trade from is very mobile and can easily be moved from place to place in a matter of minutes.
