Is rioting a national pastime in Greece??? Going by that video they seem to treat demonstrations like we do going on the piss!!

Cool dog though. Even if he is a commie baxtard!!

Even before the financial trouble they had on average 2 protests a day.

That is hilarious! I love his name - Riot Dog!

It's pretty sick what happened with the bank & the three people who were left in the building but the way people criticize the Greek's for protesting is stupid.

Just like in France, when people get mad they protest &, particularly in France, it can lead to a fairer deal for all.

Passivity is not inherent in all people ;)

Who the hell are you calling passive?!

    Eh?

    Oh. Me?

    That's ok then. Just wondering.

Slinks away to hide in the corner.

    Riot Dog is definitely awesome!

He has collar and looks to be in good enough shape so I'm figuring he isn't a stray dog.

Dogs owner must like to protest and brings the dog along with him/her everytime!

You I.D. the dog - you I.D. the owner, if the cops had a brain they'd seize the dog. Then they might have a pleading rioter on their hands.

Yeah... Taking the dog wouldn't really serve any useful purpose other than really pissing off people who we already know do not take kindly to people messing with them.

I have been talking to my contacts in Greece. Riot dog is a stray. In Greece they vaccinate stray dogs, that's what the colar indicates. He's looked after by the rioters, they all feed him and he crashes in their various houses from time to time. He goes by many names but most people call him either Louk (means pal or buddy in Greek) or Theodoros. A lot of people think he is the son of a former epic riot dog that was called Kanellos (means cinnamon in Greek), Kanellos has his own facebook page but sadly passed away a few years ago, he was a stray that hung out in college campuses and was fed by the anarchists.

Oh, one more thing, he is fukking EPIC!!!!

A dog that has been seen at nearly every demonstration in Athens over the last two years has turned up again during the recent protests against new austerity measures

The Greeks aren't rioting because they are more mature than us, they're rioting because they are immature.

The problems of Greece were not caused by banks but by government policy - they short-sightedly borrowed more and more to fund a welfare state they couldn't afford, as well as extremely generous pay-rises for the public sector, while never tackling the crippling corruption and tax evasion rife in the country.

The people rioting on the streets of Greece were the recipiants of the vast majority of the money that Greece now owes.

So an unthinking mutt is led into a riot by an unthinking owner and some unthinking Irish feel we should emulate said hound. That's just brilliant. And it'll solve all our problems at the same time!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 514 ✭✭✭IT-Guy

Wouldn't like to be the dog's owner if he's spotted walking him by a sharp eyed cop, could be awkward explaining his whereabouts on the nights of the riots! Maybe the dog's the ringleader and laughing his ass off at the police while posing next to them!
