Over the past few months i have re built the old flash site into this new and improve one. It includes a discussion forum and has much more content than the previous one.

Let me know what everyone thinks and feel free to join the forum as there are no memebers yet.

    Hi Peter,

First thing that jumped out at me was the front image seems fuzzy?

How do you mean? The text?
Sorry my sight isn't the best.

Forgot to mention in the first post, the site is a guide for someone looking to start an online business.

    Peter,

I think what was meant that the graphic on the front page is not as sharp as it should be (for its size anyway).

The second point is that you answered your own question! By having to say "Forgot to mention in the first post, the site is a guide for someone looking to start an online business" really is telling - it didn't jump out as to what you were about.

I like the site. The main image needs to be improved but apart from that I think its prity good.

I also think it's prity obvious what the site is about.
eBiz Republic: learn how to set up an online business
eBiz Republic is a free online source for Irish entrepreneurs who are thinking of setting up an online business

Don't think it could be any more obvious.

Best of luck with the site.

    thanks for the replies.

Personally i think the homepage makes it clear what the site is all about. Thats the reason for the homepage graphic. I will try to fix that over the weekend.

For someone who has no web design experience, i think i did pretty good.

    Hi,

I ran your site through some validators and each one had errors:

    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebizrepublic.com%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

    http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebizrepublic.com%2F&profile=css21&usermedium=all&warning=1&lang=en

    http://validator.w3.org/checklink?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebizrepublic.com%2F&hide_type=all&depth=&check=Check

You also need higher resolution images like everyone has been saying above ^^

Also for me personally the blue text is difficult to read.

Google analytics will be able to show user behaviour for some more feedback

Fair play to you Peter, I think it looks very well considering the above.

I like it , its well layed out and has plenty of useful info.

Considering you did it yourself I wouldn't be overly concerned with graphic flaws, you can invest in a designer if it starts to take off.

If you possibly can try and get a couple of people to start blogging on your site. One person starting a business and one in an established one would be my choices.

These days there are many entrepreneurs who want to make money online, they often spend a lot on website development, do some promotion, and then can’t figure out why millions are pouring in the door. Any developer can build a good site over a weekend, that’s the easy part. It’s getting people to visit your site and keep coming back is the hard part.

Just a small mistake but shouldnt it be aren't

    Thanks for all the feedback.

I will try and take it all on board.

I am in the middle of trying to fix the images on the homepage at the moment.

I like that blogging idea from Phatpiggins, i wonder is there anyone on here starting a business that would like to blog for a bit of advertising.

As regards the spelling, I havent had someone to proof read it yet as my grammar is poor. But should do soon.
