My flight from Luton to Galway might be cancelled tomorrow evening so just looking at Alternative options but I need a bit of help on one section of the journey back.

Getting from Dun Laoghaire to Heuston Station, the boat docks at 5.55am and the train I want to catch leaves at 7.00am (also another train at 7.30), any chance I'd make either?

    Many Thanks

Looks like I can get the DART to Tara St for 6.50 so that means I should get the 7.30 comfortably, is there a taxi rank outside Tara St?

Best way would be Dart into connolly station and then Luas to Heuston, provided you catch the 5.59am train from Dun Laoghaire, If you miss that take the next train at 06.29 to Tara street, and get a taxi up to Heuston. You should make the 7.30am train, alternatively take a taxi from Dun Laoghaire to Heuston and you will probably make the 7am train.

ps. theres no taxi rank at Tara street, but you shouldn't have too many problems flagging one down, Dublin is full of taxis.
If its Saturday morning, first train from Dun Laoghaire is the 06.29.

Alternatively, you could get the DART to Tara Street and take a non-stop Go Bus service from George's Quay to Galway Coach Station. Uses bus lanes in Dublin and Galway and the motorway the whole way so it's actually faster than the train.
Go Bus departing George's Quay at 08:15, 10:15 and then hourly from 12:15

Also, City Link run non-stop services from Burgh Quay to Galway Coach Station. 06:00, 08:00, 10:00 and hourly from 12:00 for non-stop services. City Link also have multi-stop services leaving Burgh Quay at 07:00, 09:00 and 10:00, 11:00. Multi-stops are a pain though as they stop in every single town along the way, take 30 mins longer and use the bumpy old road instead of the new motorway.

Burgh Quay and George's Quay are either side of Tara Street Station so no long walks or trying to get a taxi or Luas to Heuston. The non-stop buses are timetabled as taking 2hr 45mins but they often arrive 15-20 mins ahead of schedule. Cheaper than the train as well as faster.

funnyname you have got your information mixed up somehow, there is no ship service to Dun Laoghaire at that time of day.

What you appear to be looking at is the Irish Ferries sailing from Holyhead to Dublin Port not Dun Laoghaire.

Dublin Bus run a connecting service from the 05.55 arrival to Heuston station also dropping at Busaras. It would easily get to Heuston by 7am.

Also I see no rail service to Galway at 7am, unless you are looking at going via Limerick/Ennis which would require 3 changes and be much slower than the 7.30 service direct to Galway.

If what Vic_08 said is the case then you can use Dublin Bus to get from Dublin Port to Bus Aras and walk to Burgh or George's Quay for a non-stop bus to Galway.

In fairness, OP didn't say they were going to Galway:)
