I accidently drove over my sons helmet and now the wire part is bent out of shape.
The plastic itself is fine but some of the rivets have come away.
Are they repairable or is it a bin job??

If you value your son's life you''ll buy him a new helmet

Afaik, any modifications made to helmets mean that they don't conform to safety standards and hence, the player wont be covered by insurance. I'm not sure if this applies if you replace the faceguard with an identical one. It'll also depend on how badly damaged the helmet is. I've absolutely no experience with this though, so your best bet is to ask around at your local GAA club.

    What brand is the helmet?

Rivets as in the ones that hold the face guard or that hold the helmet together?
To be honest you can easily repair it.

It's not really safe to attempt it though.

I've got a white Cooper Sk100, with an old Mycro face guard on it. It has taken a few belts and is somewhat worse for wear. I've invested in a new Mycro but does anyone know if helmets can be fixed or is anyone willing to take it off me?

I don't want to throw it out as I'm sure someone, somewhere could use it.

    Thats a mighty silly question.

If your son was involved in an accident while playing or training, and a claim was to be made, the insurance company would look at the helmet and if its tampered with in any way, the case to thrown out straight away.
