Hi there, quick question about the vrt, here's my situation:
    I brought in a
    92 r19 16v
    91 vauxhall nova
    90 vw corrado
once the vrt is paid on these when theyre in i obviously have to pay the tax on it. Is this tax based on co2 emmissions or engine size considering the age of these cars?
anyone that can help me i will build a bronze statue of you someday
    many thanks
    larry

Engine size for a car that old. co2 based road tax only applies to cars made in the last couple of years (5 years I think).

emissions based tax is only for cars registered from june 1st 2008 on wards

cool, thanks lads, thanks very much for that, so one more question, the vw corrado is a 1.8 supercharged 8v, how much will this cost per month after it's vrt'd?

well i was guessing supercharged or not the 1.8 corrado should be roughly the same as a r19 16v cabriolet, anyone got a figure amount on this?

Nope, it's always been 1.8 (1764) although the f7r conversion is popular which essentially knocks you up to a 2.0 (Megane coupe bottom end)

Motor tax on a 1.8 is €551 per year

would you get classic insurance on a 1990 G60 Corrado these days?
Was able to get classic on an 89 Saab 900 Turbo 2 years ago

We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
