Satellite + Aerial - Installation Standards & Codes

    Hi Folks,

I've seen quiet a number of threads here involving either poor workman-ship or dishonest practices being carried out by cowboy satellite installation engineers.

While I've little sympathy for consumers who knowingly agree to dishonest practices and later pay the price, I was wondering if there are any standards/qualifications or membership of an official bodies (like SIMI for car dealers) that a consumer could seek prior to employing the service of a Satellite + Aerial installation engineer to ensure that work is done to current best practice.

In the case where SKY have sent an installer who does a botch job, is there an official procedure to report the installer ?

Finally If there are standards/qualifications or membership of an official bodies available are the training courses available for those wishing to enter this field ?
