    SM58, B57A, B58A, e935, e945 from the dynamics. B87, SM86, e865 from the condensers. Take your pick.

At that price you'll be pleasantly surprise by Rode NT1s... I have two now and for the price they're very nice...

Ah, not sure any of those I mentioned are really suited to home recording, there is probably some far better alternatives than a bunch of primarily live mics.

Sorry, I mean to say the NT2A... The NT1A is also very detailed and extremely quiet, but not AS nice as the 2, which is unfortunately out of the price range you stated... The other hood thing about Rode is that their not Chinese made (Australian) and have a lifetime warrenty (I think).

At any rate, they're well made.

If you can stretch up to about 250 the NT2A is a real winner!

well its not going to be for recording full song vocals, just a few lines of dialogue so i guess im just looking for something that is clear.

250 is a bit out of my price range unfortunately

Oh in that case you'd be incredibly happy with the NT1A...

It's main weakness is it doesn't have a pad...

So for dialogue it would be amazing!!

Rock solid, great specs, extremely quiet... Great for what you're doing!!!!!

There's also the SE 2200a, lovely mic, very versatile. You can probably get it for about 180. I know there's a dealer around somewhere...

sm58 simple and effective - if you had a bit extra an sm7b is the real one you need.

How about the Audio Technica AT2020? €133 from Thomann. They are slightly noisier than the posh Audio Technicas, but have the same sound. Easily as useful as a Neumann U87 or AKG C414 for vocals IME. For close up vocals the noise is not an issue.
I've always found the Rode mics (namely the NT1/2 and 5's) a little too bright, so for dialogue I'd be wary of any sibilance they'd introduce.
+1 they definitely have sibilance issues, but not as bad as a lot of the re badged chinese made mics IME. A stock Rode is not pleasant for spoken word IMO. One of the best VO artists I ever worked with used a Rode NT2 with the "U87" modification, and his work is stunningly good. The mod would be outside this budget I think.

No mic is immune to acoustics issues. But a simple and surprisingly effective solution is to hang duvets on mic stands around behind the singer in a U shape. Don't hang them on the wall, they're much more effective with some air behind them. Don't stand in the centre of the room, or in a corner, and you're good to go.
