Shoot down ac130???

Is it possible to shoot it down , i have tried with the stinger but no liuck?

It is possible, but difficult. The ac130 will kick out flares to avoid stinger missiles. I've seen them taken down when one person fires a stinger straight after another person. Flares stop the first shot bu the second has a good chance.

yes , it takes 2/3 stingers , or one predator missile.

Not entirely true, there's 2 sets of flares, so it will need 3 stingers ... but it is doable

I think he is right, theres a 10 second gap between flares maybe?

Yeah hes right it is 3 stingers. Does not matter the time between shots the ac130 has two sets of flares after that it can be taken out.

You can take it down with 2 bullets from a stinger if your really quick.. You hav to have slight of hand pro perk on so it reloads quick so you can shoot it while its flares are still firing from d first bullet.

Here's the scoop, all from Call Of Duty Wiki:

"If an enemy AC-130 is in the air, switch to a class with Cold-Blooded and a Stinger Missile launcher. Players should team up with a friend or use Scavenger to destroy the AC-130 with 3 missiles. Sleight of Hand can also be effective for firing two missiles off quickly. "

"A Predator Missile can destroy an AC-130, but only if the missile banks hard to the side of the map that the AC-130 is on. In other words, the player would have to be both very lucky and very observant. "

"If missiles are fired at your AC-130, frantic beeping will be heard. If the Angel Flares were able to misguide the missile you'll hear the Ding-Dong sound."

"You can shoot the AC-130 with a primary weapon and hear a metal "cling" sound, but it will not damage it. "

Since the OP has been answered, I figured it was okay to bring this off topic slightly.

Have to say I love the touch of the warning sirens when you are controlling the AirSupport and someone launches stingers etc. Nice touch by IW. Plus it helps you target the area the missile is coming from to blow the guy up.

ive shot many down using the stinger, Cold blooded and steady aim pro. it does take 2, or just hide somewhere, wait til you see the flares and fire, but fire a lil ahead of where its going.

It takes 3 Stinger missiles to take one down and I don't see what difference Steady Aim Pro makes since you don't actually fire it from the hip. You also don't need to aim ahead of where it's going either since the Stinger uses lock-on.

One javelin gets it. You need two stingers to get it to drop the flares though.

Its hard but you can.When its starts beeping you have to move it a bit forward and fire.This works for me.

You sure about that?

Anyway, I read that thing on the Wiki about SOH and tried it but it never worked. The flairs always deflected both stinger missiles.
