Aer Lingus sale to the UK, just pay taxes & charges

Im normailly dubious about Aer Lingus 'sales' but this seems more like following the Ryanair model than anything I've seen before so it might be worth a peek.

Flights to the UK are free, just pay taxes and charges. You must book by 10 May and travel 20 May - 26 June
Flights are from Dublin, Cork and Shannon to a range of UK airports.

I just had a look there for dates in May (25-29) to Gatwick. Flights were free so total return flight comes to €70 which isn't bad (thats not including bags)

Seems any flight Mon-Fri is free, others are €1.99 and weekend ones are €4.99 (for now)

    Enjoy :)

    Another Aer Lingus "Sale"....

I'll pass. Ryanair need to run one of those €0.01 offers again to show Aer Lingus what a real sale is.

Not a great sale. The taxes and charges are the most expensive part.

Granted, however as taxes & charges are always fixed with Aer Lingus that can't be used to judge how good/bad a particular 'sale' is.

    But it can be.

Ryanair often have no taxes and you only pay 1 cent.

    Not anymore they don't.
They haven't done them for a good few months now and according to O'Leary they won't be back soon either :(

That would be a indicator of a good Ryanair sale. Aer Lingus have never offered tax concessions and probably never will.

They are doing 15 euro all in each way to Gatwick in July at the moment. Still pretty good.

Not good. Disgraceful actually. I am without my passport, (our friends in the Passport office again) so could not book Ryanair's genuinely cheap--no taxes-- flights to Gatwick in July. Aer Lingus accept photo ID for trips to UK.

So I had to book with Aer Lingus

Flights to Gatwick were advertised as 0.00. Free except for "taxes and charges"

    Get this:

For THREE return flights Dublin/ Gatwick advertised as 0.00, I paid 276 Euro. That is 92 Euro each

Once I get my hands on that passport, Aer Lingus, never again!

Please dont bump old threads without good reason, especially when they are expired. Their is a consumers issues forum, or a ranting and raving forum which might be more suited.
