Sorry for starting a new thread on this, there is another one but it's now closed for some reason.
Anyway I'm asking this on behalf of a neighbour who just got clearwire. It IS connected BUT I can't get any web pages to display EXCEPT a welcome to clearwire page and to add an email but then I get the following error message...

"the owner of the device doesn't match with the introduced identification number!"

Can anybody shed any light on this for me please. Cheers!

It sounds like your neighbour using one of those small clearwire wireless broadband thingys. I used to have one way back. Basically, for billing purposes, the ID number of the unit that your neighbour has to be linked to your neighbours account by means of his email address that he used to sign up to clearwire with. In this case it's not matched up so he can't use the device until he contacts clearwire to do so.
It sounds like either your neighbour has obtained this from someone who used it previously whos account with clearwire doesn't exist anymore or it's possibly a brand new device and clearwire doesn't have your neighbours details on file.

I had the same problem, it basically turned out to be really poor reception in the end.

If this is the same in the case of your neighbour make sure he/she brings back the device to wherever it came from and cancels the direct debit immediately if it has been setup.

They billed me for 8 months AFTER I had cancelled on the same day I bought the device and it took an age for me to get refunded... Phone calls for weeks straight.

Its a terrible service/product and an ever crapper "Internet" connection.

Thats great folks, thanks for the help. Yeah I read in the other Topic about the device and the service, sounds like a disaster alright, a borderline scam even.
He says his charge is €19:95 PM for unlimited BB which I find extremely difficult to believe. My ntl/upc is €39:95 PM unlimited so I can't see him getting the same deal for 20 squid less.
The best BB I ever had was irishbroadband to be fair to them. One outage in 5 years for a one hour maintenance and they even told all customers to expect it.
Unfortunately my new landlord won't let the aerial on the roof. Aw well.
    Thanks again. Cheers! :D

IBB are now owned by Imagine and service has degraded significantly since the IBB Breeze days.
