    hi
has anyone ever had to move a telephone pole from your site/house?

once we create our driveway, by removing hedges, the telephone pole would be on the entrance, in a very dangerous place..

i got a quote of eircom for a survey?? 340 quid for them to survey where the pole is and where it will be moved to id imagine...

they dont give a total cost though. has anyone else had to do this, and how much did it end up costing?

    Thanks..

    hi
in the end, we got the site survey done, but didnt move the pole in the end, as its crazy money to do so. think the quote to do it was up around a grand, so we have just left it where it is, which is what a lot of people seem to do, where possible.

a lot of people told me, that if, by accident, durning contrustion, say a dgger or a tractor, accidently hit it a few times, that they might be forced to change it ;)... but as i said, we left it as is...

crazy that eircom wont move it for free, but thats eircon for you i suppose...

Just to point out that Eircom have a "talk to" forum here on Boards. Not sue if this type of query can be addressed or not but if not at least their verified reps could either point you in the right direction or perhaps get a response to a query on your behalf.

No didn't pursue it any further. Lithiumkid seems to sum up what debate I could find on this issue and muffler points out eircom are available to pose questions to here on boards....
