Best of luck to Gary Duff, who's shooting in the 50m Prone match today. Not sure whether Peter Friend went over to Plzen as well, but if he is there, he'll be shooting 10m Air Pistol today, and best of luck to him too.

Peter is back at work since Tuesday. Although he didn't shoot up to his usual standard last week in Hannover, he enjoyed the experience of a big competition.

Was a decent performance in the air pistol though. Shall see whether Gary manages to avoid all the dodgy Tenex today now. :p

Final is on now here. Gary didn't make it (no relay results online that I can find) but the lowest score to get in the final was 596.

Was onto Gary, he had a 590. Seems to have pipped Josef Gonci however, so it's not so bad! That's always going to be a good day at the office.

Results are up now. Gary was 66th out of 159, Gonci was 67th (same score - Gary had 37x to his 34x). Miroslav Varga had a 583 and Christian Planer (the first man to get a 600) had a 593. Matthias Raiber from Asnchütz and Maik Eckhardt (MEC) both had 595s.

Marcel Buerge (former Olympic Gold medallist) had a 591.

Highest UK shooter was Matt Thomson from Scotland with a 594, then Dave Caughey with a 593, Mike Babb and Neil Stirton with 592 and then Gary.

Not doing his chances for the Commonwealth Games any harm there.

Also notable: Harry Creevy from the Isle of Man had a 588 (Harry must be over 70 years of age now)

Not a great shoot!!, dropped 5 in my first 20 due to the light and rain!, I only really had 2 bad shots in the match and all the others were squeakers!!, gives me something to work on now!
Just arrived in Frankfurt for an overnight stay on the way to Rotterdam!;)

Oops, perhaps I have it wrong, but I remember meeting him for the first time in Bisley in 1995 and he was no spring chicken then :)

Had a feeling that you might have had weather troubles; 37 x's shows there were inconsistencies not relating to the nut behind the bolt :p

If they counted, that's three times now that you've hit the quali score for Munich, are you overdoing it a bit? :D

OK, just to set the record straight Harry is 55, so I got that badly wrong :o

Still has had a remarkable career and an example to all that you can still be competitive at an age that other sports would have you long retired from top level competition.

Warren Potent of Australia is another great example; scored a 600 (EWR) at the World Cup in Sydney this year at the age of 48.

Just to note that Beate Gausse followed up her 400 from last week with another one in Plzen! Can't get inner tens as they're only down to break ties on the spreadsheet of results.
