I have the spring version of the Well L96 and was thinking off selling it to one of my friends who is desperate to buy it anyway to get the Gas version i was just wondering is it worth it. Is a Gas sniper better in anyway than a spring one??

The gas rifles can tend to be inconsistent with cool down and such where as spring rifles are always consistent. Some of the gas one's need some work too. The only advantage in my eyes is the zero resistance bolt.

The Gas L96 is pretty good, since it doesnt have recoil you dont waste a lot of gas and suffer the cool down of other gas systems, You can get a lot of shots off from a single fill of it aswell.

The only thing that makes it a gas L96 is the bolt and you can install a spring bolt in its place anyway, so get either and buy the other bolt seperately. :)

    How can that be done?

A spring L96 has the mag well forward of the real position as the gas L96s have.

There is no L96 on the market that I know of that you can change from a springer to gas, talking about the Well, Maruzen, Star and Ares. Except possibly the new TM and G&G versions but I don't know much about them.

The Well version takes the gas in the bolt assembly, not the mag.

The G&G version takes the gas in the mag.

I have a Well gas (G96D) L96 and the gas goes in the mag, it's a clone of the Star/Ares AW.338.

I have never heard of a Well using the other system for gas before.

Edit: Just looked up their G21 gas version, didn't know that existed.

So would ye say im better off keeping my spring one and getting a new AEG?? I have my eye on the JG aug a3 and a cool acog scope and a possible grenade launcher

i currently have a JG aug a3 and its a great aeg cant fault them at all.
if getting an acog i'd recommend the G+P acog as it is the business with fixed 4x magniication.

And the A3 is lipo ready

Have the CA M24 and currently i'm using a spring in it.
I can get the gas upgrade/downgrade :D kit for it if I wanted to but why bother? Maybe a bit quieter but in our crappy weather the spring bolt is more consistent.

Ive come to the conclusion that i am more likely to spend d money from my 18th on a new gun rather than on drink which i spose isnt that bad at least im not mixing the two.
