I'm looking for a fighter to take on 15 year old Eddie Barnaville from PJ Mc Cools camp in Thurles who scales around 48kg at the minute but will fight anyone up to 50kg max and no older than 16.
Eddie is a good strong clean technichal fighter and will fight Full Contact Kickboxing Rules or if any of the Thai Boxers want a go he's willing to compromise and take a low kick fight.
Perhaps even a Taekwondo or Kyokoshin fighter might go for it?
The show is in Leisureland, Salthill, Galway which holds over 1000 people so its a nice oppurtunity for any kid to get his name out there on a big stage.
Come on guys, help me out here as I don't want to dissapoint this young man.

Heres the line up for the show so far:

    1/Jason Mannion (Galway) V Ciilin Boyce (Donegal) - 58kg - 3 x 2 min rds

2/ Catherine "Cool Chic" Cullinan (Galway) V Lindsey Doyle (Dublin) - IKF All Ireland Ladies Lightweight Title - 60kg - 5 x 2 min rds

    3/ Ezra Nolan (Galway) V John Kelliher (Kilkenny Top-Pro) -76kg - 3 x 2 min rds

4/ Alex "The Pit Bull" Novac (Galway) V Chris Coyle (Donegal) - IKF All Ireland Welterweight Title - 67kg - 5 x 2 min rds

    5/ Eddie Barnaville (Thurles) V (Full Contact Or Low Kick) -48kg - 3 x 2 min rds

6/ Charlie "The Warrior" Ward (Galway) V Eric Nolan (Dublin) - IKF Junior All Ireland Light Welterweight Title - 64.5kg - 5 x 2 min rds

    7/ Eric "The Shadow" Daly (Champion, 1st Defence - Galway) V Dee Mc Guinness (Challenger,Derry) - IKF 5 Nations Super lightweight Title - 63kg - 5 x 2 min rds

    8/ Bryan Merrigan (Galway) V Peter Mc Cabe (Dublin) - 68kg - 3 x 2 min rds

9/ Nicki "The Killer" Collins (World No. 2, Galway) V Carla Jessup (European Champion - England) Ladies Vacant IKF World Bantamweight Title - 55.5kg - 5 x 2 min rds

    10/ Gary Giles (Galway) V Peter Doyle (Dublin) (White Collar Boxing) - 71kg - 3 x 1.5 min rds

11/ Gary "Slick" Manogue (Galway) V Kayne Nelson (Kilkenny - Dragons Lair) - IKF All Ireland Super Welterweight Title - 69.5kg - 5 x 2 min rds

I`m surprised, with all the fighting clubs posting here no body's interested!

Looking forward to the event, going to be a great one, as usual:)

I thought you had to be over 16 to fight FC rules?

Maybe that's why there isn't any uptake, or is that just one associations rules?

I'm not suprised that people arent queuing up throwing there fighters at this either.

15 year old, full contact, in front of a large crowd, possibly on short notice (when is the show).

Not having a go guys but 2 follow up posts that could be read as trying to goad people into entering a fighter doesnt help either.

Thanks for the input guys - nobody tryin to goad anybody into anything but I was trying to spark a response and it worked.
As long as people talk about it we may actually get an opponent for this young man and if we don't, theres no harm done as in fairness it is short notice.
It will be a shame tho as its going to be a great show and all fighters will be very well looked after with a strong possibility of TV coverage.

So 15 year olds actually fight full contact rules? ie - the objective being to knock the opponent out? Or is it light contact?

    Just curious is all.

At the moment yes, but later in the year most kickboxing associations will have junior full contact

The Wka allow 12 year olds to fight Full Contact as do the IABA in Boxing (you can box from 11 years), as far as I'm aware Thai Boxing allow it also.
The IKF (International Kickboxing Federation) allow it as long as its well regulated and all fighters must have a full yearly medical and a licence book as well as a doctors check on the day of the fight and a qualified Doctor must be at ringside at all times throughout the fight as well as uniformed medics with an ambulance, stretchers, neck braces, oxygen and a defibulator.
We insist juniors must be over 14 and even at that most juniors only want to fight light contact but there are some exceptional kids out there so why hold them back.

Thanks for that, when I was with the IKF for a while their shows had the juniors fighting in a light contact format, if a lad knocked his opponent down he was disqualified.

    Thanks for the clarification.

The IKF you were with was probably the Irish Kickboxing Federation which is an independent body just based in Ireland but the IKF that are sanctioning the "Rumble In The Bay" Full Contact Kickboxing promotion in Galway next Saturday are a Worldwide organisation (International Kickboxing Federation) and you can check them out on www.ikfkickboxing.com.
Why don't you come to Galway next Saturday to the show - it should be a cracker and we expect a huge crowd - the more Martial Artists there the better and it can only help to unify everyone that bit more.

Ah right, yeh it was the Irish Kickboxing Federation with Joe Canning.
I'd love to go mate but we have squad training every Saturday in preparation for Korea in July. Best of luck with it.

No worries - all the best to you and the team in Korea - kick ass.

Looks like young Eddie Barnaville won't be getting a fight this time out but not to worry as its still a serious line-up.
If anybody fancys their fighter in with Eddie in September, I have a show booked in for September 18 in the Gort community centre so that should be ample notice - my apologies for the short notice this time but hey, thats promotion and sometimes ya get lucky.
The September show in Gort is also set to be a cracker as last year we had over 600 spectators and the athmosphere was wicked.
We had hoped to match Eric Daly with Adam Leyton from Ennis but Adams not available this time around (maybe some other time eh!) so we're also looking for a 63kg experienced Full Contact fighter.

Line-up for this Saturdays "Rumble In The Bay" Promotion in Leisureland, Galway:

    1/Jason Mannion (Galway) V Ciilin Boyce (Donegal) - 58kg - 3 x 2 min rds

2/ Catherine "Cool Chic" Cullinan (Galway) V Lindsey Doyle (Dublin) - IKF All Ireland Ladies Lightweight Title - 60kg - 5 x 2 min rds

    3/ Ezra Nolan (Galway) V John Kelliher (Kilkenny Top-Pro) -76kg - 3 x 2 min rds

4/ Alex "The Pit Bull" Novac (Galway) V Chris Coyle (Donegal) - IKF All Ireland Welterweight Title - 67kg - 5 x 2 min rds

5/ Charlie "The Warrior" Ward (Galway) V Eric Nolan (Dublin) - IKF Junior All Ireland Light Welterweight Title - 64.5kg - 5 x 2 min rds

    6/ Eric "The Shadow" Daly (Champion, 1st Defence - Galway) V Dee Mc Guinness (Challenger,Derry) - IKF 5 Nations Super lightweight Title - 63kg - 5 x 2 min rds

    7/ Bryan Merrigan (Galway) V Peter Mc Cabe (Dublin) - 68kg - 3 x 2 min rds

8/ Nicki "The Killer" Collins (World No. 2, Galway) V Carla Jessup (European Champion - England) Ladies Vacant IKF World Bantamweight Title - 55.5kg - 5 x 2 min rds

    9/ Gary Giles (Galway) V Peter Doyle (Dublin) (White Collar Boxing) - 71kg - 3 x 1.5 min rds

10/ Gary "Slick" Manogue (Galway) V Kayne Nelson (Kilkenny - Dragons Lair) - IKF All Ireland Super Welterweight Title - 69.5kg - 5 x 2 min rds

11/ Cathal "Mean Machine" Manning (European Champion, 1st Defence - Galway) V Rob Burbridge (5 Nations Champion, England) - IKF European Super Middleweight Title. - 78.5kg - 5 x 2 min rds.

Great show in Leisureland last night with approx 800 very vocal spectators and the main event was worth the admission fee alone as Galways Nikki "The Killer" Collins lived up to her nickname when she dismantled a very fit looking Carla Jessup to take the win by stoppage in the fourth round.
Nikki is now the IKF World Bantamweight Champion and made her own bit of history by becoming the first female World Champion from the West of Ireland.
Jessup who is the current IKF European Champion and has defended it on two occasions also won the 2008 IKF World Classic Championships in Orlando so a very credible opponent indeed and a great ambassador for the sport of kickboxing.
Cathal Manning made a mandatory defence of his IKF European Supermiddleweight Title against Rob Burbridge in the last fight of the night and took the judges decision in a fight that could have went either way as it was an over and back affair but when you fight the Champion in his own back yard you have to be very convincing and Mannings head kicks obviously caught the judgse eyes.
Gary Manogue who recently knocked out Gareth Porter in Telford for the IKF 5 Nations Super Welterweight Title added the IKF All Ireland Title belt to his collection when he out pointed Kilkennys Kayne Nelson over the championship distance bringing his record to a perfect 10 and 0 with 6 by way of knockout.
Alex Novac won the IKF All Ireland Welterweight Title by outpointing a very game Chris Coyle from Donegal and 15 year old Charlie Ward won the IKF All Ireland Junior Light Welterweight title in one of the best fights of the night when he got the nod over Dublins Eric Nolan.
Nolan, it has to be said has a very bright future and himself and Charlie could have been a main event anywhere in the World.
Catherine Cullinan took the decision after 5 hard rounds over Dublins Lindsey Doyle to become the IKF All Ireland Lightweight Champion and Eric Daly made a successful mandatory defence of his IKF 5 Nations Super lightweight title against Dee Mc Guinness from PT's gym in Derry.
