Steering fault on volvo s40

    hey, a bit new to this. i have a 07 S40 2L D. bought it about 6 mnths ago. problem is if i try start it notice comes up on dash, "Steering locked, turn wheel" the steering is not ocked and can be turned right around but as computer is readig a fault it want allow it to start, any ideas?
