The current Custom Firmware is 5.50 GEN-D3, and the current Official Firmware is 6.20. You can go back to official firmware anytime you want. This thread may be locked because I don't know if the discussion of PSP hacking is allowed.

I got myself a PSP 3000 today. I've just downloaded a number of demos off the PSN Store, so I will try them out tomorrow.

I was wondering about Custom Firmware. Is it hard to install? If you have it installed can you still connect to the PSN Store?

It's a shame you got a 3000 model, did you buy it second hand? PSP 3000s aren't fully hackable, but CFW Enabler can be loaded on those with 5.03 firmware and below to run your homebrew and ISOs.

Custom Firmware Enabler is an application that runs inside ChickHEN to enable you to run ISO games and homebrew on a PSP that cannot be fully hacked. The downside to this is that when you turn your PSP off fully you will need to re-do the steps to re-enable the use of ISO games and homebrew on your PSP.

I got it on adverts. It was a great deal. It has never been used, everything still sealed up for only €110.

Oh I just meant hackable wise it was a shame, sounds like you got a good deal on it though!
