Ebay seller and bank drafts..

    Contacted a seller in the UK on ebay regarding buying something from them Their payment options stated they take postal orders,bank drafts and paypal.Told her id send her a sterling bank draft no problem as i dont have apaypal account.

    The seller refused a bank draft as she said it "takes 6 weeks to clear".Is this correct? The only reason i picked her was for this reason. Does an irish bank draft (in sterling) take that long and is she allowed refuse my offer of payment this way?

    Yeah they are allowed to if they want but no way does a bank draft take 6 weeks to clear.

    A bank draft can take up to 6 weeks to be sure it isn't a fake. She's protecting herself as the majority of internet fraud involves phoney drafts and cheques.

    Ok thanks. Just confused as to why she'd say she allowed drafts but yet when i say this is how i want to pay, refuse it!

    Can you set up a paypal a/c using a 3V card?

    An international draft brings a whole other level of risk to the recipient. A domestic draft would be much quicker to clear, and prove it's real.

    You can use 3V with Paypal, and it shouldn't take more than a few minutes to set it up.
