So ill be getting some gates made for the entrance I have almost built, just wondered if anyone as any advice on the Underground Gate Opener Kit I should use, any recommendations, any horrer stories? This one has been recommended to me by a friend: <SNIP>

He has had no problems with it but seems a bit dear to me, anyone know somewhere its cheaper?

Any help would be great thanks.

We got electric gates in last sept, the kit our guy used was a <SNIP> system, its underground and the gates sit on 2 rods which swivel. No problems thus far. A neighbour of ours has his in about 4 years with the same kit and he highly recommended it.

I install alot of <snip> kits with very little problems. I would recommend that you go for the 24V version as it has a lot more to offer than the 230V like battery backup and faster opening times.

If you have any other questions it might be a good idea to post them in Electrical.
There's a good few installers over there who are only too happy to help

Are you going for sliding or swing.
You could get your gates and do the civils yourself leaving the automation until later

I did read it before I "sounded off", it does not answer my question, would you like to?

Did rules change since I posted it originally? Post 05/05/10, snipped 01/06/10

There is no need for that smart comment, infraction given and PM sent. Please keep any further comments on topic.

I agree we need to be able to see makes and models, but you are wasting your time trying to argue with mods.
They will back each other up regardless.
In my opinion there are too many mods with rights to edit posts and interfere with posts that they know nothing about. There should be a single mod with specialist knowledge on the field they are "modding".
I also think that anyone with an obnoxious attitude should not be allowed to mod anything on the grounds that they are not nice people because of the chip they carry.

Can anyone with makes and models please PM me details too.
Thats if i haven't got banned for "sounding off" !!!

I fail to see why you even post here if its even half as bad as the picture you are painting.

Anyhow Im not going to stand back and allow you attack moderators who give up their time voluntarily to look after the running of the forum. A 2 week ban has been applied and if you are still unhappy with any aspect of the moderation of this forum then please report it to one of the category moderators.

This question has been asked before in Electrical without any interfering or editing by mods and I have given the same answer to those questions.

It might be a good idea for a mod to move this over to electrical or for the op to re-post it in Electrical and close this topic
This post really does not make any sense since it was edited

The OP can re-post his query in the electrical forum as this has gone from a standard query to a mod abuse thread.
