    I'd recommend Google's Blogspot: https://www.blogger.com/start

Its free and relatively easy to use. There are loads of help articles also.

I set up my own on this a few months ago. if you want your own domain name without it being yourblog.blogspot.com and being yourblog.com all you have to do is buy the domain name.

    I bought mine off domains.ie (I bought surfaroundireland.com , .ie and .co.uk for €60 for the year!)

I didnt have a clue about blogs and creating/upgrading/personalising them etc. but once you get involved there is some much info out there and it gets addictive!

Use wordpress, its not just a blog but a whole CMS(Content Management System) and its free. If you need a hand setting up anything send me a message.

I find you dont have enough freedom with the online blog solutions.

Yeah Shane I've heard good things about wordpress alright... but as the original poster said he is not very IT savy and when I was starting my blog I tried both blogspot and wordpress and found blogspot a lot more user friendly for people not in the know when it comes to creating sites.

I gave up on wordpress and focused on blogspot and learned a lot from their help articles and the numerous websites out there with info.

Just my opinion, others may have found the opposite.

I've used Wordpress for the past few months and would recommend the Arras Theme. I've found there help forums excellent and providing you know what you want to achieve and willing to delve a little into the code then its quite good.

I have no idea on the coding side of websites, but these guys will tell you exactly what you need to change and where and eh pristo!
