GAA appeals process

I have a problem which i require help:

I got sent off in a club game in Tyrone and i think the sentence was harsh at 8 weeks trying and i am trying to get off or reduced to 4 weeks.
I was sent off on 18 April and sent my appeal in 2 days later - there is still no word of appeal and due to fixtures the way they are I have missed two games and will miss a further 1 which will take me up to 4 weeks suspended.
Is there anyway of using the long delay to my advantage when i finally get a hearing. Or is there any rules in the book or precedent for how long they have to give you an appeal.
I find it rich that I was given 3 days to appeal my suspension yet 17/18 days later i still don't have any word on it.

    All advice is welcome

    Thanks

Not being rude here but surely your club and management will inform you of the proper procedure. Assume anything would have to go through them first.

Yeah it does but they have heard nothing yet either - i just wanted to find out for myself as our club secretary is hard to contact.

What were you sent off for Saint Sonner?

Sent off for a highish challenge - small nippy fella against tall clumsy fella (me). most were shocked when i saw red and not yellow, including the player who shifted the tackle! Ref put me in for 8 week suspension and i see the tyrone county board are dealing out 4 week bans for some omagh and errigal ciaran players (county & ex county) who were involved in a mass field fight!

Never to worry the appeals tonight my manager has informed me!

No way it should have been eight weeks so - good luck with the appeal

good luck anyway. Be patient. Remember Eamon Fennell was out for a year over the transfer business and he has played a stormer since his return. His appeal being heard this week but according to Herald it will be awhile before the decision is made.

Did you get the notification of the suspension at a hearing or a letter via your secretary.
I would imagine you would have to appeal through your secretary.

Thats what I said. No player would be allowed to do a solo flight on ths but I understand his frustrations at the same time.

    Slight correction.

The referee reports the category of foul committed and the reason for the Red card. The referee does not determine the period of suspension.

As for the tardiness of the secretary? Maybe he (and/or the club) feel you deserve the punishment?

Was thinking that. Really think OP should let the club deal with this as going on a solo mission might back fire.
Player really has to trust his club to do the right thing on this regardless. Be patient as hard as that may be.
