    Ok where do I start!!!

    Up to last December had been a happy sky customer for 6 or 7 years never had problems. Then my pace box started to act up picture freezing,sound going on recordings & a few other things until on Xmas eve it froze and would not work even after technical reset,so lost all my recordings but at least it worked thru Christmas.
    So in January decided to get new box.In hindsight had I been able to hang on I may have gotten a better deal but to cut a long story short, I got 4 sky 'technicians' out with one giving me an ancient Thomson box that was so noisy had to turn tv up to volume 50! I then got an amstrad box which seemed better but then the same problems came back as before xmas.
    Ok maybe I was wrong but technician no.4 said for an extra €60 off the clock he could move the box higher on the roof & this would solve the problem. In desperation did this but guess what it didnt solve the problem! to make it worse he was tidying up some cables & cut our sky phone line(said cos we were with sky 4 yrs wouldnt make a diff) but in doing so messed up my broadband & home phone!
    So ive put up with the problem as it had only really happened on c4,e4 and uk gold. I've been given many explainations for it ranging from bad cabling to our TECT phone or maybe even our neighbours phone. Recently the problem has started to happen on other channels RTE & BBC, this I can't put up with.

    What's best to do? Ring SKY & see what they will do for me? I find their customer service very hard to deal with? I just wish someone could find out for definite what the problem is !!!!

    Was thinkin would getting a SKY HD box solve the problem? Would pay the extra if I knew it would.

    To add into it NTL came around to the house offering a very good deal last night. I had always said Id never get NTL but I must say at this stage im nearly thinking what have I got to lose???

    It's worth a try thanks ill give them a call.

    His name was Stephen he was actually a nice enough fella! When I told him it didn't work he said he'd come back out to sort it. He did come back after weeks on ringing and texting him, he changed something on the dish said thats all he could do and was off again. Tried his number and it had been changed!

    I'm in Maynooth and since checking this out I've found out a few of my friends in the town have had similar problems.

    3 or 4 weeks ago i got same issue with my sky+ box.Rang sky they said its 100 euro to get a installer out to fix it.I said not a hope thats a way too dear and can not afford to fix and i refuse to pay for something thats not working correctly.So i want to cancel i was asked to hold he came back with offer of free repair.Now i know someone who threatened to cancel and sky said fine.

    In your case sky have tried and failed to fix the issue which you have paid for.So in a nutshell you have paid for a repair and currently paying for a faulty service.

    Ring them explain this and you can not afford to pay again.

    Then option 2 is cancel and get your wife or some to join
