Why would a dealer loose their "authorised status"?

Hi GuysI've had a long running issue with a praticular dealer who I won't name for obvious reasonsLong story short I've raised my concerns with the Manufactures customer service manager in Ireland and it appears my issue will shortly be resolved In discussing it with him over the last couple of weeks I've discovered that the dealer is no longer an authorised dealer and it would appear that they are about to loose their status as an authorised repair centreIf my experience is anything to go by I'm not suprised but is it likely to be due to similar complaints or could it just be down to unpaid bills etc?

More likely that the manufacturer is demanding changes to the showroom or payment from the dealer to keep the authorised status, and it just isn't worth it for the amount of business this brings in.

    Renault or Audi?

There are a variety of reasons as to why a dealer may loose 'Authorised' status. Usually it's either a voluntary or mutual decision or it can often be down to non compliance with the terms of the contract between the authorised agent and the manufacturer/importer/distributor or with BER criteria. Usually there is a notice period of 2 years.

In any event, if your warranty is a manufacturer warranty then your next nearest dealer will be in a position to look after your repairs. If it's a used vehicle then the dealers warranty will still stand irrespective of whether or not he is an authourised outlet.
