Most Improved Golfer

Just read the article in the Indo today about most improved golfer:

I tried to register and it wont accept my 4 digit pin on the back of the new gui card. Anyone else have this issue and know who to contact.

It states: "The PIN number you entered does not match our records. Please try again. If the problem persists please get in touch".

Get in touch with who ?

There is a new GUI card now. Did you get that? Its got a pic of the practice ground at Carton House on it.

Thanks Tom. Yeah I got the new card, which has a 4 digit pin at the back, but the pin is not accepted when registering. Guess i'll contact the club.

Seems like a good competiton to encourage people to improve their handicaps rather than protecting them like so many do these days, unfortunetly.

Go to member details. Click on change details at the bottom. Tick the box for enter the competition.

The same thing happened to me.
I contacted the GUI directly on (01) 5054000 and they gave me a default pin. Worked fine then.

i registered for it on golfnet it just came up as soon as i logged on when i was checkin what i go cut at the weekend managed to make the top 10 category 1 players for the week

I've read the article from the independet but where can you see the actual table if you don't have this weeks paper?

The Golfnet site doesn't have it either.....

I'd imagine that part of the Indo's agreement would be that the list gets published by them, and them only, in their pages every Wednesday.

If you started as say a 16 handicapper and were on the leaderboard for Cat 3 and you went to 12 well then would your score be transferred into the list for Cat 2 then?

Doubt it. I'd imagine the category you start in would be the one you would stay in.

think i have made it into top 10 in category 2 was number 6 last wed just waiting for confirmation because they were still uploading scores from tue would be really unlucky to get overtooken now doh?...

Greenbo, if you are going correct someones spelling, at least get it right.

Overtooken is not a word, I think you mean overtaken. I hate text speak as much as the next person, but I also hate people who correct others incorrectly.

:rolleyes: it was a joke. Similiar to the Doh.
If you'll notice I havent deleted any chars anywhere, rather I worked around them as best as possible.

Well done, I ran out of time myself, went from cat 2 to cat 1 but not quick enough, was just outside of the top 10 2 weeks ago and got more cuts too late, aw well, will have to go from 5 now to scratch or plus for the next one lol
