It's almost time to welcome him back into the fold after his time away. Much has changed since jtsuited was last with us so he may need help readjusting to life 'on the outside'.

I can't wait till the much anticipated Tiesto remix of that track comes out. Har to beleive we used to slag him...

Unfortunately Jeff's ban was longer than expected, he's not back till Saturday now apparently!

well then, we can temporarily turn this into a 'prison songs' thread :p
    Any takers?

Have you seen the "cocksucker blues" stones documentary, lots of graphic sex and drugs and rock'n'roll

Almost completely OT but that reminded me, I heard a tune on the radio this morning, someone has completely butchered "Inxs - Need you tonight" with a truly horriffic - even for today's standards - pop/rap version. Yeukch.

Why was he banned? What happened?

Do a search for his last few posts and have a read of the ones in after hours and feedback etc. Very funny stuff, classic jt!

hell yea, it's a film I know quite well. think I heard somewhere that it's finally going to be 'officially' released though we're unlikely to ever see it in cinemas.

Stop turning this guy into some sort of hero, he is a criminal! He should be doing a longer stretch in my opinion.

  • Moderators, Motoring & Transport Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 12,616 Mod ✭✭✭✭Zascar

Hero lol - some people do loose the run of themselves

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,460 ✭✭✭hans aus dtschl

Just read all of the epic saga there. Wow.

Glad I don't post in that forum. "you may express an opinion as long as it's mine" is proper nazi stuff. Seems like you guys in the music forums really are a lot more realistic with your moderation. Not seen much moderation in this forum recently, it's a lot more legible for it.

  • Moderators, Motoring & Transport Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 12,616 Mod ✭✭✭✭Zascar

I'm not really allowed to comment on how other moderators moderate - it has got me in lots of trouble before, but yes I don't think this forum would be much if we adopted a similar style lol

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,460 ✭✭✭hans aus dtschl

Ah i've seen forums die because of over moderation. People take time to post, so I think they get exceptionally riled up when stuff is deleted. I know I've gotten pretty annoyed in the past.

After Hours is a mad place.

Here's hoping he used his time off to make a new great track :D

He'd never have been banned on my watch. Tut tut Zascar and Felix, well I'm dissapointed in you :)

Ah my thoughts on how various places are run are well documented. A lot of people have long memories around here it seems

Regardless at the end of the day people need to remember this is the Internet and many people have "Internet personas" that after hours forum is a disaster and i rarely even look never mind post in there!!

My hole I did. Never had any kind of iron fist on here. The fact that you were one of the extremely few banned on here should cause you to look at yourself as opposed to throw out accusations at me

Basically a fair enough argument against the ridiculous modding of celebrity death threads. I wouldn't really agree with him in the case of Gerry, but he was talking about Jade Goody for a lot of it, and that was fair enough.

I haven't actually read what he said to get this ban, must have been pretty heavy to get 7 days or so!

it wasn't actually. the guy who sitebanned me said it was for what i said in the afterhours forum regarding the 'well if it's being censored, everyone quote me quick' thing.

I was acting the maggot with those people who hang around feedback just to agree with the upper echelons of the moderatorship. Some epic lulz tbf.

Ah basically I gave them no other choice. They imposed ridiculous censorship because a local celebrity died, and when pulled up on it they didn't want to play ball and entertain any other perspectives.

Also my help desk thread didn't help. Someone telling you you're banned because you were 'acting the dick' and then pointing out that the mod/admin is 'acting the dick' right now is one sure way to trigger a power trip.

Fcuking joke of a saga. And some of the backpatting and ridiculousness that went on over in feedback was nausea inducing.

ah not really. too much pathetic 'good job goys modding the after hours thread, you're some sort of super-heroes' type sentiment.

jsuited is right about some people who let it "go to their head" when they become moderators they suddendly feel a sense of importance and feel as if they have a special power and will basically use this "power" (sic) to ban someone who they believe isn't adhering to the strict rules in place, very very sad and pathetic but hey this is the internet and it takes all sorts.

PS - I'm not suggesting the moderators in this particuar forum are like that, it's usually that afterhours rubbish, and for the record i never liked Gerry Ryan either and think this outpouring of grief is pathetic, the same poeple were slating him when he refuses to take a pay cut that time, pot and kettle!!!

most of the mods on here (boards as a whole) are ridiculous, i was reading the dublin forum before and some mod was saying that junkies are scum etc etc and someone pulled him up on it saying thats not always the case etc etc, so the mod banned him, then threatened to ban anyone else that wanted to argue, his exact words were "anyone else want to try me".

    cop the fvck on.

    ***awaits banning***
