Samsung R40+ Overheating

I noticed my laptop seemed overwarm the other night (& could detect a slight "hot electronics smell") so shut it off for the night. Last night I was using it for about 40 mins & it shut itself off. the left hand side of the keyboard was very hot to touch & underneath it was too hot too touch, so we've obviously got a heating issue.

If this was a desktop, I'd just pull out the power supply & replace it, but I don't know what my options are with a laptop. It's about 2.5/3 years old. Is it end of life or fixable ?

It probably needs a clean. Seeing that it's 3 years old it's probably full of dust. I know i had to do that to my Dell 6400 about a year ago and it sorted it out. That's where i would start anyway.
