Can anybody fill me in on the weekly costs associated with running a small cafe would be. I know the staff costs and the food costs but I have no idea about what to expect to pay for ESB, council rates etc. I am trying to do a few projections but I am stuck on this area. Would €400 a week cover it all?

Hi Blackedelweiss I don't have any exact answers for you. The electricity bill will depend on ur opening hours etc and whether or not you use it for cooking or are ur appliances going to be gas operated?? Re the rates they vary from building to building and from area to area as far as I know. I recently enquired about rates on a building about 75metres sq and they were approx 1600 annually.

Thanks for that Rubiee, I am just looking for a ballpark figure of weekly expenses including gas, esb, rates and any other little bits and pieces that I dont know about yet. I am just trying to get a rough idea of expenditure so I can put a semi relevant figure into projections, otherwise they are worthless as I may not be budgetting anywhere near enough for a certain section and my projections will be unrealistic. I am using €400 a week for now but I have no idea if that is anywhere near realistic.
