    I am just wondering if there are many shops and amenities arounf this area as i have booked victoria lodge for next year and havent been down to see it yet

    few shops cafes etc, church, bus, service station, hotel, gym. all in all pretty well served...

    The centra by Vic Mills is a decent shop, Tesco Express is right around the corner too, it's handy being near the Mardyke. Subway is there, pharmacy across the road from that and a 24hour is about 7mins walk down the road if you're stuck for anything either. If you wanna use the library but don't wanna walk all the way into college the new Western Gate building is connected to the Brookfield Science building by bridge so you're won't have to walk too far to study. And there's an AIB across the road from that too. Probably the best area to live in for a student imo

    That's a bit optimistic isn't it :confused:

    I'm tall and a very quick walker but I'd say nearer 10-15 mins..

    I'm talking about the petrol station down the Carrigrohane straight - across from the Park past the Council buildings - from Vic Mills where I live it'd be about 7mins or so
