Weird question about adding a name.

The thread title says it all really. My Mother recently passed away and as she has no surviving siblings her maiden name has now gone. And now for the weird question. Would there be huge or no implications if I were to add her maiden name to my surname ie: her married name, my fathers name? The intention is to simply keep…

The thread title says it all really. My Mother recently passed away and as she has no surviving siblings her maiden name has now gone. And now for the weird question. Would there be huge or no implications if I were to add her maiden name to my surname ie: her married name, my fathers name?
The intention is to simply keep the name of her famly 'alive' and fresh in our memory, rather than for highly legal reasons.
Any information on this would be very appreciated.
