iPad 3G on O2 with broadband sim

    I have an iPad 3G on O2 Ireland using a broadband sim. Works!

    A few things to look out for, cutting the sim to size is easy after you have done it once! You have to cut into the 'gold' in one area otherwise the pins do not line up correctly and you will get an error saying no sim card inserted.

    I suggest put the AT&T sim in and out a few times, this will get the pins to mark the sim card and help you line it up for 'micro siming'!!!

    I had to cut into the gold area of my o2 sim card, minimise the amount you cut into this area as much as possible. The guides on the web do not show this.

    Once in you will need to set the APN settings.

    APN = open.internet
    username blank
    password blank

    Turn off and on the airplane mode and thats it.

    I'll try and post a photo later.

    I tried calling the iPad, on the phone making the call, it tries to ring once then the call gets dropped.
    I tried to send a text message and it wasn't received.

    Yet to try fring etc.

    Hope this helps some others.
