What amp should I buy???

    I want to buy a tube amp for playing in a band set up, playing stuff on the heavy side of alt rock. I play a strat. I'm looking for something around the 500 euro mark or under. I've been looking at amps like the laney vc30 210. I'd like to just use the clean channel of the amp for my clean sound and then use pedals for distortion. Just wondering what people would suggest? Any tips etc? Thanks :)
