sewery smell in kitchen

    Hey guys,

Wondering if you can help- I recently bought a new house and recently there seems to be a strong sewery smell whenever it's warm out which seems to come from the kitchen sink and also the hotpress.

We sometimes get it in the downstair loo too.

We've had the builder out to look twice and each time they blame it on bungs which were not attached correctly behind the kitchen presses. They have fixed the bungs but the smell is still there.

Has anyone else had this problem? I have chatted to the neighbours who also have this in warm weather.

Did you check under the drain cover in yours or your neighbours' to see if there is a blockage in the line?

check that the waste pipes on the sinks have a u bend on them.also check that the waste outlet for your washing machine/dishwasher dont connect directly to sewer system.

    +1

There should be a washing machine waste/trap behind the machine or beside it.

    Thanks for the replies guys,

Apparently it's a problem around the area where the apartments across the road also suffer from the same problem so it looks like it may be the sewer system in general,

I'll definitely look into your suggestions though, thanks a mil :D
