So me and my GF want to take hols from the 12th to the 27th of June and as she speaks fluent Italian she'd like to go to Italy, which I like anyway. I have only ever been there for work (the north) and she's only been to the north and Rome so we're a bit lost as we're looking for a beach resort location in the south somewhere, or at least somewhere likely to be warm at this time.

Any ideas? We're flying out of Berlin so please bear that in mind. Our budget will be around €1300 for both of us. Cheers for any pointers!

I've been looking into Italy myself.
Chia beach in the south of sardinia is meant to be excellent. White sand style, not the pebbly type!
You may have to rent a car to get there because Ryanair fly to the north of the island, but maybe a German airline flies to the south of the island.

The Amalfi coast/Sorrento are meant to be great, but I've never been there.

What about Sicily? Taormina is meant to be a nice city.

I've seen both of these hotels recommended in this forum before. With your budget, you might be able to get better hotels though:

    Sicily: http://www.hotel-villadaphne.com/location.htm

    Sorrento: http://www.hotelgirasole.com/public/sito/EN/default.asp

    Sorrento/ amalfi coast.

Or there is even a beach resort in venice on a separate island- called lido. That way you could also visit venice city & lagoon area.

Sorrento / Almafi Coast route is great, with loads to do. Ryanair into Rome - then get the train down. Cheap way to do it. But there is no beach in Sorrento, just a man-made jetty with a tiny bit of sand (man made) full of old Italian guys in speedo's (not nice)....!

But there is no beach in Sorrento

There are beautiful beaches just a little further south. E.g Maoiri and Minori, and others on the coast towards Salerno.
