    Hey guys,

    As part of a prize my band won for winning the DIT Battle of the Bands comp last week, we won a slot to play at Life Festival 2010 which is happening in Mullingar over the June bank holiday weekend.

    I hadnt heard of the festival until I heard it mentioned as the prize for the winners and from reading about it on the internet it seems to be mainly a dance/electronic festival but with a fair variety of music like reggae, pop, rock and indie too.

    I'm a little worried about us fitting in as we're a hard rock bordering on metal band but it's happening now anyway, so thats up to the folks who come see us to decide! wink.gif

    Anyway, just wondering is anyone knows any more about Life Festival... Has anyone been? Or know anyone who has?

    Also, it'll be my first festival experience! Had tickets for Oxegen 07' & 08' but had to sell both times due to work so this time I'll definitely be going (since it'll be free & all tongue.gif)

    So yeah, any reports on the festival from anybody? Just trying to suss a general vibe and to get some kind of idea what to expect... (especially considering I'm a festival noob)

    any info would be much appreciated!

    Congrats on winning the battle of the bands.

    Life Festival in a nutshell is a alternative Festival. Its alot smaller than the main-stream ones with 3-4 thousand attendance. Its run by people who run it for the love of the music/festival scene instead of the money. There is no corporate sponsorship. Its run as a private party so some of the music is on until the very wee-late hours.

    I've been twice and have always had good experiences. Very well run with all required amenities in plentiful supply. The atmosphere is class, with a very chilled out buzz.

    As a first festival its a good choice. I wouldnt worry about the genre you play. There will be people there who will be into it.

    Anyways enjoy and see you there.......
