    Hey,
I've started a new blog a couple of months ago about surfing in Ireland. If any of ye have any comments to make on it to improve / make it more interesting, it would be great.

    http://www.surfaroundireland.com

    Cheers,
    Neil.

Thats a fantastic first effort! Looks good, well written, informative. And the surf forecast is a great bonus! ;)

I have no interest in surfing, but found myself reading quite a few of your posts!

Just keep it up - lots of new blogs are great for the first couple of weeks and then slowly die off!

Are you getting much traffic to it?

    Cheers for the positive feedback,

Im getting an average of about 12 visitors per day. hoping that will increase over time.

That really is brilliant! Is that from search engines or what?

About quarter from search engines, half from referring sites and about quarter direct traffic.

Dont know what people usually strive for when getting hits, is it best that most of your traffic is from search engines or direct traffic or what?

Well I guess if you were plastering the URL around on printed advertising and stuff, direct traffic would be a good sign. If you are not doing that at all, lots of traffic from search engines is fantastic.

All depends really. At the end of the day, traffic is traffic! :)

Ya think I could enhance mine more with wordpress?

I think your blog looks quite good. It seems to have all the functionality that you need it to have. You could take the approach of "if it aint broken, dont fix it" and continue to improve your current site. Although, it would be worth spending 15 settings up a dummy Wordpress blog, finding a template, pasting a few of your articles in and seeing how it works/looks.

If you suddenly find that it gives you way more options, then there's your answer! If not, well no biggy - stick with Blogger.
