My two babies are in getting spayed at the moment and i am so anxious to hear how they are doing.

They are both bichon frise bitches - sophie is 9 months and chloe is 5 months and im worried how they will react to the sedative and operation in general.

    Anybody any advice or opinions?

Don't panic, they will be fine Vets carry out this ops everyday..Your babies will be right as rain and back on their paws in no time:)

They'll be fine don't worry. My own dog was neutered last week and despite me being a Veterinary Nurse for years up until a few months ago and knowing all the ins and outs I was still in bits so it's natural to worry.

Just remember they'll be feeling very sorry for themselves when you bring them home so lots of love and cuddles and keep them nice and warm (but not too warm) and make sure they drink enough water. They'll be flying it again in no time don't worry :)

Krrh, just keep in mind that this is the most bsiic of procedures and is carried out by vets all over the country every day. It's no big deal.

Also, consider how it would be if it were your real babies that were undergoing an operation, rather than your dogs. It's a matter of perspective.

Don't worry so much, it's a routine operation and is done all the time, and is nearly always fine with no complications. I'm sure they'll be fine. :)

Our eldest was spayed at 6 months and was very sleepy that night and was sick at one point, but she was fine next day. The middle one was spayed when we got her and the youngest was spayed at around a year old. It didn't knock a feather out of her and she bounced around as soon as we got her home. By this time tomorrow you'll be wondering why you were worried

Thanks guys for all the posts of support!!

I collected by babes about five last night and then came through the operation fine.

Sophie (9 months) had the shakes and was very sick and she just wanted cuddles all evening. She still hasnt eaten anything but hopefully when i get home this evening she will be better humor. My husband will be taking good care of her today anyway.

Chloe then (5 months) is very very very sore, everytime she moves she lets this blood chilling scream out of her but she is in better social humor than sophie. She is eating and all but just very sore. The vet gave me some painkillers for her so i will give them to her later.

The both only went to the toilet this morning and afterwards they just sat and trembled for a few mins - i suppose it feels funny to them!!

Its all over now and i supoose i was worrying over nothing!!

    Thanks again guys!
