I know the VR Missions/Integral didn't work on the PS2fat but my problem is at the end of the game... I let the credits roll but at the very end it just stalls and is dead so I can't save it and can't get the stealh camo.

My discs are in perfect order, can't see anything wrong with them. Did anyone else ever hear of this?

That's one weird problem. Reason enough to hold onto an original Playstation. I haven't come across it myself as I haven't played through MGS on a PS2. Good to know though.

Ah grand I knew I wasn't mad. I'm playing through it again so I'll see if it stalls on my PS2 slim and then I'll load it up into the PS1 slim.

Just to confirm: the credits stall on the PS2 slim as well. It's when the last credit rolls up reading "Developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan Co., Ltd."

That's a load of balls! Cheers for confirming. As a matter of interest, any idea if this also happens on PS3s with backwards compatability?

well all ps3's play ps1 games, id hazzard a guess it doesnt happen thjough but i havent played the disk version through on my console as of yet (have it downloaded and disk sitting on shelf)

Hmm... it's a possibility that it will happen on the PS3 as well since it's probably using a version of the same chipset.

I was convinced for the longest time that it was the disc that was at fault but I plugged in the PsOne and no bother there though the disc spinning was a bit noisy - probably just the console as I neverreally play it.

I don't have a PS3 with backwards compatibility but does anyone anymore? I heard a large number of them died a death of some yellow light

All PS3s can play PSone games. I assume the glitch doesn't occur on PS3, since you can download MGS.

All PS1 capabilities on the PS3 is software-based so it it shares nothing with the hardware used in PS2s to play PS1 games.
