Interesting film. It had it's moments. I liked the ending.

Loved the bit where the Junky guy shouts at the whore in his den. We all jumped sky high for that bit in the cinema. That whole scene didn't have the same effect at home.

I jumped, it was great. Some scary and shocking moments in this film. The junkie scene was very intense and almost to real.

When the junkie misfired his gun and Harry went into 'marine' mode , 'you didn't maintain your weopon son', was massively ironic and very well done.

Very good film and worth a watch. Harry is a vigalante that the public needs, in a fantasy sense at least. I found it a very good film which pulled no liberal punches.

I loved the beginning of it..
up to where he starts killing people after the drug dealer scene (which was absolutely chilling; I never get creeped out at films but yer man Stretch certainly did the job ).

It had a lot of promise but I think it kind of ended up running away with itself and losing a lot of its original intent and meaning. To me, the first half beautifully portrayed an aging, lonely man with absolutely nothing left in the world but fear and loss and his friend..
who he loses due to more fear.
It was absolutely depressing and heartrending, like it was meant to be.

I'm not saying he shouldn't've gone vigilante or anything. I'm just saying the way they went about it could've been a fair bit more realistic. It seemed overkill and unbelievable, though the scene with the
chav (aka Cook from Skins) on the chain in the underpass
    was well done.

Cinematography was stunning and made up for a lot of the film's plot faults.

Overall I'd say it was a good film, but in certain instances just goes a bit over the top to the point where it slips into the realms of utter fantasy.

Aparently there was a guy who was like Harry that scumbags were terrified of back about 20 years ago. Worked for the 'guardians of peace' and had some authority in Dublin from what i've heard.

Pity theres no respect anymore, story was a little too true to life. Very interesting and different.

I also saw the main scumbag kid singing/rapping away in a music video on MTV the other day.

Funny enough he seems to just be a scumbag, no coaching required!

Yep it was a great film. In part it is fantasy but the film does highlight the scum that are in these areas and how they work, plus it parodied the police failure to do anything due to being caught up in red tape and their shear inabilitly to do anything and frankly just did not give a damn.

It is a complex film in that respect, it provides food for thought.

Some folks do live in this type of environment. The question has to be asked Why do they have to live like this in the first place and why will they be forced to take action?

You gotta wonder about the guys they cast for roles like that, especially considering how young they are. Is it really acting?

Same goes for your man Jack O'Connell, aka Marky from Harry Brown, Cook from Skins or Brett from Eden Lake. He's completely convincing as your typical laddish chav. I haven't seen him as any other type of character and I suppose due to how he looks he's probably typecast, but the complexity of his character in Skins (well, as complex as Skins can get) does give some indication that he's more likely to be just a really good little actor than an actual chav, but still.. gotta wonder. He's listed as "thug" for another film I haven't seen on IMDB, so that's another one to add to the list.

Possibly Michael Caine's best performance. Great film, far superior than Gran Turino.

If there's nothing you want to see in the cinema, it's worth a look.

It is worth a watch. Worth collecting, it is different. So yes go buy it for the collection. You will watch it later purely for Kanes performance. It is gritty and unforgetable imo.

    Wasn't mad about it.
Started off well but just wittled into a forgetful movie.
