Kris Kross made everyone do it in the early 90's.

It caused all the clocks in the world to jump back 1 minute.

I'd pay to see Stephen Hawking jump.

It caused clocks to jump back 1 minute. So not only did Mack Daddy and Daddy Mack make us jump jump, they also made us travel through time.

The Earth weighs approx 10,000,000,000,000 times the combined weight of every person living on it. So to answer your question (unless it was done in some sort of focused manner) I believe absolutely nothing would happen.

Van Halen only suggested jumping, as in - "You might as well jump!" whereas Kris Kross were emphatic in what they were going to do "Mack Daddy make you jump! jump!"

There was no doubt in their minds that upon listening to their music you would indeed be jumping.

Your honour, I rest my case.

I'd say there'd be more of an effect if everyone in the world farted at the same time.

We'd have another earth fart and there'd be more volcanic ash

the planet might shift of course a fraction, but the forces that keep everything ticking along nicely (gravity, elves with magnets, matt damon etc.) would quickly right any wrongs.

The people with brittle bones would fall apart.

I think even if you got something with as much mass as everyone on the planet and made it *jump* in one spot on the surface of the planet, nothing would happen. Or at least not a whole lot; you might add .00002 seconds to the calendar year or something.

Laws of Gravity still apply to things both big and small. When you launched the mass up and off, the kinectic force is quickly negated by gravity again. the planet as a whole is still attracted to smaller masses (like people) even though its the Much stronger force of the pair. The planet would be attracted back to the mass and vice versa, and would negate virtually all of the effort put into such a ridiculous feat of human jumpineering.
