Would anyone be able to recommend a mechanic with reasonable rates in the Moycullen / Oughterard area? I need the car looked at before the nct, don't want someone to take me to the cleaners........tends to happen everytime....... Thanks

Have a look at this thread http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055431583 from the city but it mentions places outside too.

Fix things now that you know will fail, blown headlights and such.
Then take it to NCT and after only fix what they failed you on.

Burke's garage in Moycullen, behind the petrol station on the Oughterard side. Have only been there a couple of times myself but found them reasonable, and have heard good things from other people.
