    Hey guys,

Visiting my girlfriend in London for the weekend and coming back early Monday morning.

I have to sign on on Tuesday. Just wondering if this ash thing flares up and I have trouble getting home what should I do?

Might not even happen, just want to be covered.

    Cheers,

    Owlwink.

You wont get cut off for missing one signing in reality. I missed my sign date twice two months in a row.The next day will do. But be careful if you keep it up they will make you sign every week or EVERY DAY like a man i know.

I get anxious and stressed when i forget to sign.

I'd fill in the holiday request form. In reality you're only taking 1 days "holiday" - the Saturday, as Sunday doesn't count. That way if you do get held up, you have proof that you notified them you were out of the country, and if there were ash problems you can cite force majeur.

If you didn't let them know you were going abroad, and then said you couldn't get home, they could get awkward and say you shouldn't have been out of the country in the first place.

OP if you're really stuck for getting home, don't forget you can take the RailSail from London Euston to Dublin via ferry - it's only £30.50 single. There's a train at 12.10pm and 8pm.
