Can anyone tell me why the plaster is falling off where there is screws holding the plaster board in place. Its mainly happening in the ceiling. Its a new concrete built house?????

Hope its not dodgy work but a common occurrence!

i used be an apprentice plasterer, sounds like the slabs weren't screwed in properly,or maybe a few screws missed the Joyce going in thats why its coming loose?

this is a common but not serious problem in new built houses, the plasterboard wasnt screwed in properly or maybe someone stacked something heavy on the floor above which would have popped the screws or nails.im a painter and i see this in every mew house

This is called "popping". Either the screws weren't driven fully home/screws too long/screw heads over 5 and a thud on the overhead floor. To fix ....... try to drive screw home/remove and rescrew into joist close by, fill in and sand when dry.
