I think you would need to talk to a social worker and it would have to be done via the courts if the child is 16 or 17 after that they are legally an adult.
Ring childline for advice,it is free and confidential.

    Hi there,

I'm afraid I don't think Ireland has the same emancipation of minors legislation that the US has, I think in Ireland until a child reached the age of majority at 18, if they leave home without parental approval or permission then I think the HSE and gardai can get involved.

Call childline on to have a chat and find out what your rights are and maybe share your worries on 1800 66 66 66. They also have a teenfocus service for teens and their families and you can get support or help with family mediation. The nationwide offices are here http://www.ispcc.ie/Services/Teenfocus/Contact-Teenfocus.aspx

If you can't get on the phone you can post issues and even have an online one-to-one on http://www.childline.ie/

    Best of luck.

Hey is there anyway I can get emancipation from my father so I can leave to go and stay with my mother in another country? I'm only 14 but I'm capable of making my own decisions
