Is it on bill pay? If so any data you use will come out of your 2gb allowance as long as you use the live apn and roam on a vodafone partner network

The Vodafone partner networks in the US are:

    T-Mobile
    Cingular
    AT&T

Also you will find plenty of free WiFi points around the place, e.g. Apple stores, hotel foyers, etc.

If you are Payg with vodafone sign up to the 360 package and you will get 100mb per day data for 39cent a day and it works in the US

Yeah I'm on bill pay. So if I use maps, gps or check emails it's all covered with my 2gb allowance?? I read some horror stories of people having huge bills after being abroad. Why would there's have been so high??

Yes, of course you will be charged for incoming calls. Apps on the Hotel Internet should be ok, but you may find it difficult to send mail out, unless you can use your webmail, rather than the mail app.

Is this too good to be true or am I getting shafted by o2???

Am heading to the states soon and would be interested in porting my number over to voda from o2. Is this offer only for pay as you go or can it be done on a pay monthly tarrif? Could you fill me in please?

Just back from the USA and anytime I was on T-mobile I tried accessing net but message popped up to turn data roaming on which I was lead to believe would've cost me a fortune,so I didnt bother.Only time I could access net was on wi-fi.Unless I forgot to do something before I left?

I have a Vodafone PAYG SIM in an iPhone 3GS and am currently on the Advantage Plus tarrif. As long as I top up by €30 every month, I get free Internet access on the phone.

The terms indicate that the Internet access is restricted to Ireland, but on a recent holiday in Mallorca I thought I would see if this was the case. I had a feeling that Vodafones 'Data roaming at no extra charge' policy for Bill Pay might extend to PAYG through default. Also, being on PAYG, there was no risk of any nasty surprises.

To my delight, I was able to browse the web, use my apps, and download email via 3G. I did keep an eye on my balance to make sure any Internet access was not coming out of my credit, which it wasn't.

    Superb.
