Is there anywhere in Dublin (or Galway & Athlone) where you can buy an audio interface for a decent price? I'm looking for something up to about €130. Or are Irish prices such a rip off that I'm better off getting it at thomann even after delivery charges?

I to am on the lookout for an interface to monitor ableton with my apc40,

from what I've seen so far I'd say we're better off ordering from thomann or musicstore.de

**** is always cheaper if you look online, butttt if you buy locally you might get almost the same price AND you might have better luck getting your stuff repaired replaced...

    Might.

Ireland can be a difficult place to get stuff repaired in.

    Fixtronix.ie

Dave can and does, fix just about anything - and is the official Repair Centre for many well know brands.

Unfortunately, an experience with this guy was exactly why I said what I did.

Anyway, sure I'm in the minority.

i got a Tascam US-122mkII from studiosolutions.ie for 130 euro, although it reads 160e on his site.its a fantastic AI. he would do delivery or you can go to his shop and have a look at a few others, he has more there for less money,ie; 100 euro etc

i never buy stuff online/overseas, i stay away from places like thomann. there's nothing to stop your gear being kicked and knocked around the delivery van on the way to your house after waiting 14 days for it only to take another 14 days to send it back and wait for their bull**** returns process, buy local, suport local traders, and without sounding like i work for him, studiosolutions would be the best for anything. i went up there and had priced up everything off his site and checked he had it all in, and when i went up there i had it worked out that everything should of come to 1500 euro,. i only ended up spending 1000 and got everything i needed. so prices may be high looking on the site but it was different story in the shop...

    Yes I hope you are.

He also does mods. He's upgrading chips and caps on a Bus Comp for me at the moment too.

    Wow!

    Didn't know that!

I may have to try him again....

I try to not let one bad experience colour someone completely in my mind, you know?

He's not a tinkerer, he knows his shizit.

Give him another go and let him know you were unhappy with a previous experience.
