Hello, just wondering if people under the age of 18 can book a hotel room for themselves for a night? Is it legal?

From my experience, no. I'm not sure if there's any particular law against it, but many places look for a credit card both to make the reservation and to checkin, which should be in the name of one of the guests, and credit cards aren't given out to under-18's (AFAIK).

I'd doubt there is anything legal preventing you doing so, the lack of a Visa card might though. If you have a Visa debit card though it shouldn't be a problem.
